Jika ada D di kolom usang, unsur ini pernah menjadi bagian dari spesifikasi, tetapi tidak lagi.Dalam kolom DTD, elemen merupakan bagian dari XHTML 1.0 dan HTML 4.01 DTD, namun tidak jika mereka memiliki kode berikut:
- L = loose DTD
- F = frameset DTD
- N = not in a DTD
- X = XML not XHTML or HTML
